Massimo Gaidano

Senior IP Counsel at Ferrero

Massimo Gaidano was born in Turin and currently acts as senior IP counsel at Ferrero. He joined the company in 1992, just after graduating from the faculty of law, University of Turin – one of the most respected academic institutions in Italy.

Mr Gaidano has spent most of his career looking after IP matters in a number of different positions with various responsibilities, managing, among other things, judicial and extra-judicial IP litigation, with a particular focus on trademarks and unfair competition, as well as large portfolios of trademarks and designs. He gained vast professional experience handling matters in jurisdictions in Europe (Italy of course, but also Spain, Portugal and at EU level), North America (United States and Canada), Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru), China and India. He actively participated as member of the International Trademark Law and Practice Team of MARQUES from 2017 until 2019. He is also a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Italian section and the Italian Association of In-house Counsels. In addition, he represents Ferrero in INDICAM in the position of deputy delegate. INDICAM is the most renowned association for the protection of intellectual property in Italy.

Apart from Italian, his mother tongue, Mr Gaidano is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a good working command of French.
