Managing Counsel, Trademarks and Brands at Intel Corporation

Kelly W Smith is managing counsel for Intel Corporation in the trademarks and brands legal team. She is responsible for protecting the INTEL trademark – ranked the 11th most valuable brand worldwide, with a value of more than $43 billion. Her practice includes trademark clearance, enforcement, complex licensing and domain names. She is a trusted partner to her brand strategy and internal business clients.

Ms Smith graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994 and graduated cum laude from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1997. Before joining Intel in 2001, she worked in private practice at Fenwick & West LLP and Perkins Coie LLP, specialising in IP litigation. 

She has been an active member of INTA for nearly 20 years, where she has served on several committees and held several leadership roles. Ms Smith currently serves as vice chair of the INTA Enforcement Committee. She is a speaker and lecturer on numerous trademark topics, including trademark protection on the Internet at Stanford Law School's IP law summer programme.
