Associate Manager, IP and Brand Protection at Bulgari SpA
Debora Zeno, an Italian and European trademark and design attorney and Italian attorney at law, works in the brand-protection department of Bulgari SpA in Rome. She graduated magna cum laude in law from the Libera Università Maria SS Assunta in 2006.
Ms Zeno was admitted to the Italian Bar Association and to practise before the Italian Trademark and Patent Office and EUIPO in 2009. She then gained experience in private practice at reputed Italian law firm Studio Legale Associato Barzanò & Zanardo, where she specialised in all branches of IP law. She dealt with anti-counterfeiting activities and provided legal assistance for a variety of prestigious Italian and international clients in matters involving trademarks, designs, domain names and distinctive signs protection in both civil and criminal contentious and non-contentious cases.
During this period, Ms Zeno attended the Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry, a six-week intensive programme at Lehigh University, United States. She learned and lived among a culturally diverse group of more than 100 peers from over 50 countries, developing teamwork and entrepreneurial skills and gaining global business knowledge and cultural understanding.
Ms Zeno joined Bulgari SpA in January 2012 and handles the management and prosecution of the company’s entire IP portfolio worldwide, as well as litigation, anti-counterfeiting initiatives and training in assigned regions. Her daily work involves trademark clearance searches, responding to office actions, liaising with trademark agents and professionals around the world and filing new applications and renewals for trademarks and designs in Italy, the European Union and at the WIPO. She was featured in the 2017 and 2018 edition of the WTR 300 and was honoured at the 2018 Lawyer Monthly Women in Law Awards for her "outstanding legal expertise and contribution within the practice area of Industrial and Intellectual Property”. Ms Zeno is fluent in English and French.
