Amily Chen is senior IP counsel at Burberry, taking charge of IP protection and enforcement through both civil and criminal proceedings in China. Ms Chen has practised in the IP field for more than 15 years and is a qualified Chinese lawyer. She has been working at Burberry for over seven years, during which she established the brand protection team at Burberry China. Ms Chen is responsible for a full range of IP enforcement in China and plays a significant role in Burberry’s global brand protection team. The team deals with all kinds of IP infringement, including trademark disputes and infringement, copyright infringement and design patent piracies. The team’s enforcement actions cover in-depth investigations, administrative raids and criminal and civil litigation. Ms Chen is dedicated to seeking consistent legal action to challenge serious infringement and ensure that infringers pay the maximum price.

Before joining Burberry, Ms Chen was head of trademarks for the Shanghai office of a UK law firm. She has practised in trademark prosecution and enforcement for many multinationals, covering industries such as luxuries, pharmaceuticals, vehicles, apparels, consumer goods and alcoholic beverages. Ms Chen specialises in trademark protection strategies, trademark dispute resolution, trademark litigation and online trademark and copyright protection, as well as overall enforcement strategies.
