Rakefet Peled specialises in commercial litigation, particularly in the IP and libel fields. She has extensive professional experience in the various fields of intellectual property, in particular, copyrights, trademarks, designs, passing off, unfair competition and competition law. She also has extensive experience with proceedings in all courts of law and is well versed in appearing before the Israel Patent Office. Ms Peled also serves as a mediator in matters of IP rights, libel suits and privacy protection.
Throughout the years, Ms Peled has taken an active role in the creation of numerous precedents in the IP field, such as the Supreme Court Ashir case, which dealt with the principles of unlawful enrichment that occurred as a result of product imitation. She also took an active role in Maariv v The Marker, which dealt with a journalist’s copyrights.
Ms Peled’s clients include media companies, advertising agencies and production companies, music companies, government companies and individuals who operate in creative fields. She lectures at various academic and professional forums. She also lectures on civil proceedings and copyright, and initiated an IP course, as well as continuing legal education programmes of the Israel Bar Association.
