Partner at Prioux Culot + Partners
Pierre-Yves Thoumsin has practised trademark law for over 10 years, helping clients protect, defend and valorise their intangible assets. His objective is to provide concrete, genuinely useful solutions underpinned by three core values: client-mindedness, a no-nonsense approach and value for money.
Mr Thoumsin strives to provide advice that can be easily understood by both large companies with strong in-house legal departments and small and medium-sized clients. In doing so, he favours a pragmatic approach, based on a comprehensive understanding of the client’s needs. He is thus able to provide high-quality legal services at competitive rates.
Mr Thoumsin holds an LLM in IP law from the University of Brussels and has worked in the IP departments of several top Belgian firms. In February 2019 he founded Prioux Culot + Partners, together with three business law specialists. The firm’s lawyers successfully combine the practice of law with academia and can thus guarantee up-to-date knowledge in their areas of expertise. Mr Thoumsin is also a lecturer in design law at the University of Leuven and a teaching assistant in IP law at the University of Brussels.
Belgian and foreign lawyers often seek Mr Thoumsin’s advice on specialised trademark issues. This peer recognition is further reflected in his regular appointment as a panelist for ‘.be’ domain name disputes. In addition, he is often asked to publish and speak on various topics of trademark law.
Mr Thoumsin is listed in the WTR 1000 as a leading trademark professional in Belgium and is recommended by Leaders League for trademark litigation in Belgium.
