Martin Fiebig

Partner at Lubberger Lehment

Martin Fiebig studied law at the Universities of Rostock and Berlin. After his admission to the Bar in 2000, he joined Oppenhoff & Rädler, which later merged with Linklaters. In 2004 he left Linklaters as a senior associate together with Andreas Lubberger, co-founder of IP boutique Lubberger Lehment, where Mr Fiebig became a partner in 2007.

Mr Fiebig practises in all areas of trademark and unfair competition law. He has as a special reputation for devising strategies against trademark infringement on e-commerce platforms and for forcing an obligation of care by platform operators through the installation of electronic filters. His litigation experience concerning the liability of platform operators is outstanding. He has recently been involved in two cases against Amazon that reached the Court of Justice of the European Union and the German Federal Supreme Court.

Within Lubberger Lehment Mr Fiebig heads the border control department, which in 2019 proudly recorded the largest number of custom seizures in Germany. He also handles the IP part of transactions and cooperates closely with partner Benjamin Koch in this area.

Mr Fiebig is member of the German Association for Protection of Intellectual Property and the European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA). Within ECTA he is an active member of the Internet Committee.
