Marsha K Hoover is a highly experienced trademark lawyer who also has an extensive background in copyright, advertising, publicity and privacy law. Building close and enduring relationships with clients is the hallmark of her practice, and she represents a broad array of businesses, including publishing, manufacturing, insurance, food and beverage and hospitality companies, as well as non-profit entities. She crafts and coordinates international trademark registration and enforcement programmes and has a particularly strong background in merchandise licensing, copyright and trademark protection for characters, work-for-hire, public domain issues and rights of publicity and privacy.
Following a two-year judicial clerkship for the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, she began her private practice in commercial litigation, gaining experience in complex antitrust cases. She is admitted to practise in New York and Illinois. She was included in the inaugural edition of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers™, being among the women attorneys who have received the highest possible rating in legal ability and ethical standards from their peers, was identified as a Top-Rated Lawyer in Intellectual Property by American Lawyer Media, among the Top Lawyers of Chicago by the National Law Journal and has repeatedly been listed in the WTR 1000.
