Mara Janković’s practice focuses on trademarks and designs, customs measures, litigation and plant varieties. She is a domain name disputes arbitrator with the Committee for the Resolution of Disputes Relating to the Registration of National Internet Domains. She is also a former member of the INTA Emerging Issues Committee and INTA Famous and Well-Known Marks Committee; she currently serves as a member of the INTA Bulletin Committee. Ms Janković has taken part in numerous round tables with the state authorities for the purpose of amending relevant IP legislation for combating counterfeiting. She is also a European patent attorney and a full member of epi’s Council for Serbia. Ms Jankovic is a member of the Serbian Intellectual Property Office committee that examines IP agents.
Ms Janković has extensive experience representing clients before the administrative and civil courts in trademark infringement matters and in customs action proceedings. The IP community has recognised her as a leading practitioner in the field, alongside Dejan Bogdanović (also a partner at Mikijelj Janković & Bogdanović).
Ms Janković is particularly interested in plant varieties and the protection of breeder’s rights and has provided assistance to a number of clients in the Balkan region. She also advises on and represents clients in general commercial law matters before the Serbian courts.
