Lena Shen is a partner of Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd, the first private patent firm and a top 10 IP law firm in China. She received her education in both China and the United Kingdom. Her main areas of practice are IP litigation and trademark prosecution. Ms Shen has been involved a number of IP litigation and other enforcement actions, and has also gained rich experience in trademark registration, review, opposition and cancellation, among other matters. In 2019 she was awarded the Gold Medal of Trademark Attorney by the China Trademark Association.
Ms Shen is very active in the international IP forum. She has been a bureau member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) since 2018 and serves as an AIPPI Assistant Report General; she is the first chair of the Working and Study Group for Asian Issues (known as CET 8) of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) and has been in the position since 2015.
Ms Shen has participated in the Global IP Project to collect and analyse IP infringement statistics and is responsible for the China data. She is the co-author of the China chapter in Global Patent Litigation-How and Where to Win, published by Bloomberg in 2014-2019. Ms Shen also wrote “How to Reward and Remunerate Your Inventors” published by Managing Intellectual Property in March 2014.
Ms Shen frequently speaks at domestic and international conferences, including AIPPI, FICPI, INTA and the China Trademark Festival.
