Justisiari Perdana Kusumah has a long and distinguished career in IP law and is recognised as one of Indonesia’s leading figures in the area. He is recognised by the Asia-Pacific Legal 500 as a leading IP lawyer, Asialaw Leading Lawyers as a leading practitioner in intellectual property and Chambers Asia-Pacific as a highly recommended lawyer in intellectual property and telecommunications.
In addition to his duties as managing partner, Mr Kusumah leads and oversees the litigation and enforcement team, the arbitration team, as well as the commercial IP, telecommunication, media and technology practice group.
Mr Kusumah was a member of the IP experts team of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights from 2011 to 2015.
Mr Kusumah was chair of the Indonesian IP Consultant Association from 2010 to 2013 and is a member of its advisory board. He is also a member of INTA and the Asian Patent Attorneys Association and a board member of the Indonesian Intellectual Property Society (IIPS).
Mr Kusumah has been actively involved with the IIPS in promoting IP protection and awareness in Indonesia and was involved in the establishment, and currently serves as chair, of MIAP – the Indonesian Anti-Counterfeiting Society. Mr Kusumah also routinely provides training in IP-related matters through programmes organised by and for the Indonesian Police Force and National IP Task Force.
Mr Kusumah holds an LLB and a master’s from Padjajaran University. He has attended various training courses in Indonesia, Singapore, Canada, the United States, France, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan, and has spent time in Melbourne on secondment to one of Australia’s largest firms. He is a licensed advocate and a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association.
