Juan Carlos Amaro

Juan Carlos Amaro has been a partner and the legal director of Becerril, Coca & Becerril SC (BC&B) since 2010. He is an attorney at law with a postgraduate degree in constitutional law from the Panamerican University. He also obtained an international legal English certificate from the University of Cambridge in 2007.

Mr Amaro presides over the IP Litigation Committee of the Mexican chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is an active member of INTA, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (where he is president of the Contentious Matters Committee), the Mexican Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Owners Association, where he is a member of the International Trademark Law and Practice Committee.

Mr Amaro has been invited to participate in national and international forums on IP matters and has contributed opinions relating to the legal IP framework to various domestic and foreign associations. He has published several articles and collaborated on the first edition of the book La Propiedad Intelectual y la Investigación Farmacéutica.

Mr Amaro leads BC&B’s legal department. He focuses his practice on IP and administrative litigation, anti-counterfeiting, constitutional law and regulatory issues. He is mainly involved in representing pharmaceutical clients in patent litigation.
