Jorge León

Founding Partner at C&L Attorneys, SC

Jorge León is an attorney at law who has been practising intellectual property for 23 years, with extensive experience particularly in trademarks, copyrights, domain names, IP litigation and enforcement of IP rights. He co-founded C&L Attorneys in 2003 and is currently the head of the IP litigation and copyright department.

Mr León is enthusiastic about intellectual property. He serves on the International Trademark Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Subcommittee and the American Bar Association’s Trademark Litigation Committee. He is also a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society International and the Mexican Bar.

Mr León has excellent communication skills – he is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Japanese. This, combined with his knowledge of Mexico’s IP framework and background (which includes specialising in intellectual property at the Franklin Pierce Law Centre), has led to his appointment as an expert witness before the US Federal Court of Appeals in a cross-border trademark dispute. His background also includes specialising in IP law at the Graduate School of Law Studies, a diploma in intellectual property from the World Intellectual Property Organisation and several other courses and lectures relating to intellectual property and enforcement of IP rights.

Mr León has been recognised as a leading attorney in Mexico by WTR 1000, WIPR Leaders, MIP IP STARS and Corporate INTL for several years in a row, and has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical, automotive, food and beverages, consumer products, fashion and luxury goods, media, technology and entertainment industries.
