Jonathan Redway is a nationally recognised IP trial lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, false advertising, tortious interference, antitrust, environmental and complex commercial cases before federal and state courts throughout the United States, as well as before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the International Trade Commission.
Mr Redway recently defended Cvent Inc in a trademark infringement action brought by Tarsus Connect in the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, winning summary judgment before Judge Steven D Grimberg on all claims, including a finding that one of the asserted marks is incapable of legal protection (Tarsus Connect v Cvent, Inc, 452 F Supp 3d 1334 (ND Ga 2020)).
Mr Redway has represented a number of famous brands in significant trademark litigation disputes, including Anheuser-Busch (ICE BEER), Carhartt (counterfeit clothing), Cotton (misappropriate of the famous seal of cotton) and John Deere (protecting the famous green and yellow colour combination). Mr Redway is presently representing the Irwin Brothers in a trademark dispute in the Southern District of Florida involving their theatrical release feature film company KINGDOM STORY COMPANY.
Although the focus of Mr Redway’s practice is litigation, he also counsels clients on all aspects of trademark law.
