Joanna Piłka is a Polish patent and trademark attorney and a European trademark and design attorney. Her key areas of practice cover all issues related to the protection of trademarks, industrial designs and domain names. Ms Piłka’s services include brand and design protection strategies, opinions and legal advice on various aspects of trademark and industrial design protection and trademark and design searches. She is also involved in prosecution and litigation proceedings, including oppositions and cancellations.

Ms Piłlka represents clients in administrative and litigation proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and the EUIPO. She is also experienced in handling court-administrative proceedings.

Her clients include multinational and local business from industry sectors, including:

  • fast-moving consumer goods;
  • pharmaceutical;
  • financial;
  • technology; and
  • retail.

Ms Piłka joined PATPOL in 2000 and has been a patent attorney since 2011.

She has a master’s in economics from the faculty of economics and management at the Lazarski University in Warsaw and a diploma in postgraduate IP studies from Warsaw University. She also completed postgraduate studies on the implementation of information technology at the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce.

Ms Piłka regularly gives lectures, training and presentations on intellectual property – in particular trademarks and designs – to entrepreneurs at business events and to students at renowned universities in Poland, thus helping to fulfill PATPOL’s mission to spread knowledge of intellectual property in Europe.
