Jana Traplová is an attorney at law who specialises in intellectual property, especially in litigation in the fields of trademarks, customs proceedings, counterfeit and forgery cases, domain name issues and licensing agreements. She also specialises in unfair competition and copyright law cases.
Ms Traplová received her legal education at the faculty of law of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. Upon her graduation, she joined Traplova Hakr Kubat Law & Patent Offices (THK) as a junior associate. She had previously worked there during her studies. Ms Traplová also lectured on business law at the University College of Business in Prague. She is currently a partner at THK. Together with her team, she works with companies of various sizes and advises on the enforcement and protection of IP rights and all related matters. In addition to Czech, she speaks English fluently.
Ms Traplová is a member of a number of professional organisations, such as the Czech Bar Association, the Czech Lawyers Union and the Czech branch of the International League of Competition Law. Further, she is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, as well as other international bodies connected with her specialisation, including the International Trademark Association, the European Communities Trademark Association (as a member of the Committee for the Fight Against Counterfeiting), MARQUES and the Czech branch of the Licensing Executives Society.
