Trademark and Design Attorney at Laurent & Charras
After gaining an LLM in industrial property, Elisa Gérard joined Laurent & Charras in 2007. She became a French industrial property attorney and a EUIPO professional representative in 2012.
Ms Gérard special areas of interest are trademarks and trademark protection and enforcement strategy worldwide. Her practice focuses on IP rights portfolios, including designs, copyright, domain names and unfair competition.
For over 10 years Ms Gérard has been assisting clients from a variety of business sectors (cosmetics, textile industry, electronics, design, security and food, among others) with the management of their IP portfolios, as well as the acquisition, exploitation and enforcement of their rights. She also counsels clients on negotiations, settlement agreements, litigation and strategic approach to develop and optimise their portfolios.
In order to respond to her clients’ needs and because of her personal interest in foreign practices and laws, she has developed privileged relationships with IP specialists all over the world; she maintains this network by attending numerous conferences, which also helps her to keep abreast of the latest trends in IP law and practice.
Ms Gérard is a member of the Harmonisation Committee of the European Communities Trademark Association and has taken part in several study questions with the French Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
