Carl Wendt is a senior attorney specialising in trademarks, domain names and IP strategies. He has special knowledge and experience in working with the international trademark and domain name portfolios of several of Sweden’s largest global industrial companies. In addition to strategical advice and international trademark and domain name portfolio management, Mr Wendt’s practice focuses on watching, naming, branding, research, risk analysis, custom watch and fight against counterfeiting.
Mr Wendt has many years’ experience working with the special regulations that apply to intellectual property in the life sciences, primarily relating to pharmaceuticals and biotechnologies in connection with agencies such as the US Food and Drug Administration, the European Medicines Agency and Sweden’s Medical Products Agency. He has gained this international experience working at some of Sweden’s major pharmaceutical corporations, such as Pharmacia & Upjohn and later Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
In addition, Mr Wendt has extensive experience in strategic IP issues in telecom and home electronics through his previous positions as in-house counsel at both Ericsson and Electrolux. In these positions he also gained great experience in handling online brand enforcement and related online legal matters. He has participated in anti-counterfeiting actions in diverse parts of the world, such as China, Algeria and Iran.
Mr Wendt is a highly regarded speaker on IP issues; he has given lectures and run courses on intellectual property at universities, international companies, innovation companies and start-ups.
