Anne E Aikman-Scalese is of counsel with Lewis Roca’s IP practice group. She assists clients with a wide variety of commercial contracts, worldwide trademark registration strategy and prosecution, copyright protection and enforcement, IP due diligence and IP licensing transactions. Ms Aikman-Scalese has experience handling global trademark portfolio management, enforcement and dispute resolution (including TTAB proceedings) for the largest division of a Fortune 150 aerospace manufacturer, a federally recognised Indian tribe, a popular resort with restaurant, casino and entertainment venues, a videogame publisher and merchandise retailer, a cleaning products wholesaler and various non-profit organisations serving both the arts and health services sectors. She also has in-depth knowledge of new gTLD policy-making processes at ICANN, most recently serving as the commercial stakeholders’ voting delegate to the Cross-Community Working Group for the $240 million auction proceeds fund.
Ms Aikman-Scalese held a leadership role at INTA for over 15 years and has been a speaker for the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Practising Law Institute, the Western Indian Gaming Conference and WIPO. A member of the ICANN IP Constituency since 2010 and former chair of the Generic Names Supporting Organisation Standing Committee on Improvements, Ms Aikman-Scalese is knowledgeable regarding various IP issues raised by the proliferation of unlimited top-level domains. She has also served as an expert witness in federal trademark infringement litigation.
