Aleksandra Wędrychowska-Karpińska has over 20 years of experience in trademarks, designs, copyright, trade secrets, patents and unfair competition. She is a skilled litigator who has represented clients in numerous court disputes in relation to IP infringement, defamation proceedings and consumer law.
She recently won a case before the Constitutional Tribunal in the matter of the unconstitutionality of the regulation on the right to information from internet service providers (ISPs). She was also instrumental in securing a judicial confirmation that Poland failed to implement the EU Enforcement Directive in relation to orders imposed on ISPs in trademark infringement actions. In addition, Ms Wędrychowska-Karpińska won a famous case before the Supreme Court on the copyright protection of a product shape. She prides herself on the ability to present complex IP rules to common courts. She represents clients in a variety of cases, including IP or trademark infringements, before appellate courts and the Supreme Court. She advises on effective IP enforcement strategies, including seizures, interim injunctions and court orders. She has a track record of successfully representing clients from various sectors, including food, health, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, financial services and construction.
She advises on strategies for the protection and commercialisation of IP rights and IP-related contracts.
Ms Wędrychowska-Karpińska is a member of INTA’s Non-traditional Trademarks Committee and LIDC.
She is a lecturer on IP protection and enforcement.
She was a partner at WKB for 15 years and recently established a new IP and life sciences boutique law firm, WKGI.
