Online marketplace counterfeit hotspots
Leading law firms identify the digital marketplaces that brand owners should monitor as part of their global anti-counterfeiting efforts. As part of the series, experts share their experiences of fighting fake goods in the digital environment, and reveal the online marketplaces that they suggest should be on policing radars in their jurisdiction.
Physical marketplace counterfeit hotspots
Brand protection experts reveal marketplaces around the world that are reportedly notorious for the trade of counterfeit goods, including trading markets and malls. IP Office Innovation Ranking
Since 2017, WTR has conducted regular research to identify the IP offices leading the way in terms of non-core initiatives. The IP Office Innovation Ranking launched at a time when some national registries were looking to transform themselves from administrative offices into technologically advanced organisations offering a broader range of services. In the years since, we have tracked how IP offices have evolved in terms of the value that they add for innovators.
We analyse the data findings of WTR benchmarking and community survey projects. The trademark operation benchmarking survey polls corporate and law firm professionals to take the pulse of the IP landscape and identify how practice, strategies and threats are evolving over time. The online brand protection strategies project builds a complete profile of the landscape, identifying both emerging threats and the latest practices to counter them.
Trademark filings are an important economic indicator. The prosecution data in this section provides insight into regional and jurisdictional prosecution trends from around the globe, as well as revealing who the top trademark filers and portfolio owners are.
