Kimberly Eckhart is a principal counsel in Apple Inc’s trademark and copyright legal group. She directs global trademark protection and enforcement strategy and provides guidance on the availability of potential names, logos, slogans and titles for new products, services, content and advertising campaigns for Beats Electronics and Apple’s computer technology and advertising services and entertainment offerings, including television, film, music, radio, fitness, books, podcasts and gaming. She also supports Apple’s corporate development group in connection with review, analysis, and assessment of intellectual property issues in Apple’s mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Apple, Ms Eckhart was a corporate transactional and licensing attorney at Winston & Strawn for five years and a commercial litigator at Morrison & Foerster for ten, where she represented clients in the US TTAB, federal and state court, and domestic and international mediation and arbitration proceedings. She has deep knowledge of international trademark law as well as extensive experience negotiating, drafting and advising on complex intellectual property and commercial services agreements. Ms Eckhart received her JD from William S Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii and her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College with majors in English literature and Asian studies and minor in Spanish.
