Ruta Pumputiene is an attorney at law with over 16 years of professional experience. She is the founder of Ruta Pumputiene Law Firm – the first and (to date) only firm in Lithuania specialising exclusively in all aspects of the life sciences and other regulated industries (food, beverages, tobacco, alcohol, retail and consumer goods, gaming), with partnerships with Estonian and Latvian law firms to cover all regional needs.

Working on a wide range of both cross-border and local IP cases (mostly trademarks) and commercial law-related projects, Ms Pumputiene is widely considered one of the most experienced IP and life sciences law experts in the Baltic states.

Ms Pumputiene obtained her LLM in international IP law from the University of London and in 2019 successfully completed the EUIPO Trademark and Design Education Programme (a training programme delivered by EUIPO staff, leading IP professionals and academics and focusing on trademark and design registration and prosecution). She also taught a course on IP law in the e-space for three years at Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania.

Ms Pumputiene is an author and co-author of legal overview chapters in numerous local and international publications, as well as analytical articles in relation to IP legislation and IP cases, and life sciences regulation in the Baltics. She is also a frequent speaker and attendee at international and major local conferences and events.
