Firm Profile

Zacco is a true European full-service consultancy with a 360-degree approach to intellectual property. We are more than 500 IP professionals including over 75 trademark and design attorneys and attorneys at law covering seven European jurisdictions – EUIPO/EPO, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland. Zacco as a firm and many of our attorneys have achieved top-tier rankings and recommendations from the World Trademark Review, Intellectual Asset Management, Managing Intellectual Property and Legal 500 that vouch for the outstanding quality of our services. We are the leading ‘one point of contact’ firm for handling European cases.

Trademark and design prosecution

Through our European offices and local expertise, Zacco is able to file trademarks and designs with the EUIPO and in Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark. The process is really smooth: clients have one point of contact at Zacco in order to cover all the jurisdictions, while we coordinate the work internally. Our extensive geographical coverage thus translates into a highly efficient and cost-effective solution.

Generally, our trademark practice assists all industries with filing and prosecution, availability and infringement opinions, and has a special focus on European trademark practice, including oppositions, cancellations and appeals before the EUIPO. A number of companies, including in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, have outsourced the management of their trademark portfolios to Zacco, which – thanks to a well-established infrastructure and economies of scale – can offer a cost-efficient alternative to an in-sourced solution.

Litigation and disputes

When in need of experts in IP litigation and dispute matters, we at Zacco can represent our clients ourselves in these jurisdictions: EUIPO/EPO, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Unlike a traditional law firm, we are renowned experts on intellectual property, meaning that we have both the legal and the technical expertise in-house to successfully represent your interests.

In contrast to many other IP firms in Scandinavia, Zacco also provides the full range of IP legal services cross border. These services are offered through a network of law firms and lawyers working and sharing offices with Zacco throughout Scandinavia and in Germany.

The legal practice serves all industries with legal advice and assistance in connection with the drafting and negotiation of contracts relating to intellectual property, the EU General Data Protection Regulation and other compliance matters, advertising and e-commerce, litigation, domain name conflict resolution, establishment of customs surveillance and other measures for the prevention or combat of counterfeiting.

Zacco’s lawyers have successfully represented international clients in proceedings before the national courts and the European Court of Justice.

Our vision – IP 360

Zacco takes care of its clients’ innovation, identity and digital assets – everything that you literally can’t put your finger on. We protect them, give our clients ownership and make them theirs to keep, now and in the future.

With a recent broadening of its scope of services, Zacco is focused on meeting the implications and possibilities of digitalisation.
