Bronze - Individuals

Though it has faced significant personnel losses in recent years, Boehmert & Boehmert seems to be weathering the storm, with competitors highlighting its “solid, practical advice”. The firm takes an innovative approach to instructions across the IP spectrum, while its multinational team makes cross-border matters a breeze. At the heart of the practice is attorney at law Carl-Richard Haarmann, whose clients include aerospace and defence company RUAG Ammotec, and who imparts his wisdom as a visiting lecturer in locales as far flung as India and China. He is a highly proficient portfolio manager – a skill shared by Volker Schmitz-Fohrmann, Peter Gross and Florian Schwab. Schmitz-Fohrmann’s other responsibilities include anti-counterfeiting projects and the management of the firm’s Paris office; while Gross combines portfolio strategy prowess with a knack for resolving disputes both in and out of court. Meanwhile, Schwab stands out for his deep theoretical knowledge and strong links to Spain and Latin America. Whether for portfolio management, disputes or the smooth brokering of contracts, Björn Bahlmann is an excellent choice. His broad remit also extends to related areas such as employee invention law and trade secrets. Still on board is Ludwig Kouker, who for 30 years has been negotiating favourable out-of-court settlements and licensing agreements, especially for consumer goods and retail players.
