Erla S Árnadóttir is one of Iceland's leading experts in the fields of IP and IT law. She studied corporate law and copyright law at a postgraduate level at the University of Oslo Faculty of Law from 1983 to 1984 and was a grantee at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich from 1988 to 1989. Ms Árnadóttir has practised law since 1984. She joined LEX in 2000 and leads the firm's IP department.
Ms Árnadóttir has dealt with a variety of issues in the fields of IP and IT law. Between 1991 and 2000 Ms Árnadóttir was chair of the Trademarks and Patent Appeals Committee. She is currently a member of the Advisory Committee on Copyright, which advises the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture on copyright matters. She has been a lecturer in IP law at the University of Iceland for many years; she has also written scholarly articles and frequently lectures on IP rights.
