Bronze - Individuals: prosecution and strategy

With 12 branch offices across the country and a 13th in Ukraine, Gorodissky & Partners is the largest outfit of its kind in Russia, providing total support to clients both at home and throughout the CIS. The firm is the country’s most prolific trademark filer, processing almost 2,000 marks in the last 12 months alone; is a frequent fixture in contentious proceedings before Rospatent; and utilises sophisticated online tools to facilitate efficient portfolio management and combat online counterfeiting. Valery Medvedev has been in the IP game for 40 years and has captained the IP squad at Gorodissky for half that time. Prosecution, enforcement and licensing all fall within his wheelhouse. Heading up the trademark team is Alexey Kratiuk, who has keen instincts for anticipating and then batting off infringements – especially when non-traditional, collective and well-known trademarks are at stake. Based in Novosibirsk, Natalia Nikolaeva merges knowledge of trademarks, copyright, unfair competition and advertising law. Her bulletproof anti-counterfeiting strategies prove popular with clients and she is a seasoned negotiator of licensing agreements. The legal department is led by Evgeny Alexandrov, while Sergey Medvedev serves as deputy head. Alexandrov is a powerful force in the courtroom, in particular when parallel import issues arise; while Medvedev knows his stuff in the rapidly growing area of internet and e-commerce infringement.
