The initial effects of the covid-19 pandemic on the Hungarian IP scene have subsided significantly. Domestic businesses are placing more of an emphasis on enforcing their trademark rights, foreign companies are investing more time into protecting their intellectual property in Hungary and litigation is on the rise once again. The complexity of the disputes has also increased, with new types of trademarks being prosecuted and new forms of infringements taking place. It is expected that the economy will continue to expand over the next two years. Growth in digitally focused industries is set to be particularly strong, which will ultimately create more IP work for the firms featured in the WTR 1000 2023.
