The primary anti-counterfeiting legislation in the United Kingdom is set out in trademark and customs legislation. The Trademarks Act 1994 contains both civil and criminal penalties for trademark infringement. The EU Community Trademark Regulation (207/2009) contains civil penalties for infringement of Community trademarks.
