In recent years, the move away from the traditional distribution of counterfeit goods has been well documented. Once shipped to the United States by the container-load on board massive ships bound for flea markets, swap meets and street vendors, today illicit goods are increasingly arriving directly to consumers’ doorsteps in nondescript packages sent through the mail and via express delivery services. Counterfeiters are increasingly moving online, and trademark owners have been forced to adopt new enforcement strategies in order to protect their brands.
