INTERPOL: Transforming regional success into global action

Throughout 2011 the IP Rights Programme continued its global expansion by providing more IP crime training and operational support in INTERPOL’s now 190 member countries during an increasingly difficult period of financial retrenchment. Key to this was building on common interests between the IP Rights Programme and a wide group of public and private sector partners, and a collective desire to work together to make a difference. It was achieved by consolidating regional success enjoyed by all involved in the previous two years and focusing shared resources on expanding existing work streams from one region to another.
