Trademark infringement is a criminal offence in certain circumstances under the Trademarks Act 1994. UK authorities are also making increasing use of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 in relation to convicted counterfeiters; the act is designed to strip criminals of their ill-gotten gains.
