W Lee Webster is a partner in the national IP department of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.
Mr Webster’s practice has a strong focus on the structuring of comprehensive technology and IP licensing, joint venture, R&D and other related commercial arrangements, with particular emphasis on the exchange of technology and IP assets. His practice also encompasses the full range of IP services, including corporate transaction and litigation support, trademark acquisition, licensing and infringement, and counselling on IP portfolios.
Recent notable work includes acting on behalf of, and structuring technology licensing and sharing arrangements for, significant projects in the nuclear energy, financial services, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food and beverages, and electronics fields.
Mr Webster is a founding member of the Canadian Intellectual Property Council and is chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. He is a registered trademark and patent agent, and has written and spoken extensively on intellectual property and related issues.
He has been recognised in Canadian and worldwide rankings, including:
