Head of Litigation Department
at Meissner Bolte Patentanwälte Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB
Tobias Wuttke heads the litigation department of Meissner Bolte, one of Germany’s leading IP law firms, which provides comprehensive legal services in all aspects of industrial property rights – particularly trademarks.
Dr Wuttke obtained his law degree from the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Breisgau. He worked as a legal clerk for the Hamburg Higher Regional Court and studied abroad at universities in Seville and London. The German Research Foundation sponsored his doctoral thesis. For several years, Dr Wuttke was the personal assistant to the former presiding judge of the German Federal Supreme Court (IP Division), Professor Joachim Bornkamm.
Dr Wuttke represents blue-chip clients and small and medium-sized enterprises in both domestic and cross-border IP litigation cases. His focus is on high-profile litigation cases and the development of strategies on how best to maximise protection for innovations and successfully exploit them in an increasingly competitive environment. In this regard, Dr Wuttke frequently negotiates complex licence and research and development agreements.
Dr Wuttke is a frequent speaker at IP conferences organised by the Licensing Executives Society, the German Association of Intellectual Property Experts, the German Association of Engineers and PATINFO (an annual event on patent information and IP rights). He is also the author of numerous publications in the field of IP and know-how protection.
