Omesh Puri is a partner with LexOrbis and head of the firm’s trademark, design and copyright practice with over 12 years’ experience. He has undertaken a wide array of assignments in prosecution and enforcement of IP rights, and routinely advises on complex commercial and IP transactions. Mr Puri has noteworthy experience in representing clients before different IP offices, including the Trademark Registry, the Design Office, the Copyright Office and the Intellectual Property Appellate Board. His current focus, along with IP prosecution and contentious matters, is providing advisory services to the technology and media and entertainment sectors, including on transactional aspects.
Mr Puri regularly advises start-ups and small and medium-scale enterprises on the identification and protection of their IP assets in India, as well as internationally. He is responsible for developing large IP portfolios from various industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, computer software, fashion, sports and automobiles.
Mr Puri is actively involved in IP awareness campaigns with several government organisations. He has authored several articles published in the India Business Law Journal, Asia IP, Trademark Lawyer Magazine, Managing Intellectual Property, Lexology and Mondaq – to name a few. He regularly speaks on IP issues at various forums. He is also a member of INTA’s Famous and Well-known Marks Committee.
