Michael R Friscia is a registered patent attorney who has been practising patent and trademark law for more than 25 years. His practice covers all areas of intellectual property, particularly patent and trademark prosecution and the enforcement of IP rights.
Mr Friscia works with clients to build substantial patent portfolios. He has particular experience in the mechanical and electrical fields, including computer software and hardware, business methods, medical devices and other technologies.
He also works with clients to protect brands in the United States and internationally. He routinely advises clients on trademark availability and assists with the acquisition of trademark rights.
Mr Friscia has significant experience in contested matters, having litigated both patent and trademark disputes in federal district courts and before both the Patent and Trademark Trial and Appeal Boards. He is frequently called on to stop infringers of his clients’ trademarks.
Mr Friscia is a member of the International Trademark Association Panel of Trademark Mediators and a regular speaker on patent and trademark matters.
Mr Friscia served as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School from 1999 until 2006, teaching courses in both patent and trademark law.
He has been recognised as a leader in his field by Chambers USA (2012-2017), where he is described by sources as a “go-to guy” for patents.
