Senior Partner at Zacco
Martin Tranälv has been a lawyer for about 25 years and has focused exclusively on intellectual property since 2001. His experience in a district court and in general commercial law firms has given him a solid foundation in many other legal fields. Mr Tranälv’s IP practice is broad, covering prosecution of IP rights (in particular trademarks), portfolio management, IP agreements and oppositions (mainly trademarks) in Sweden, before the EUIPO and in many other countries. He has handled various IP cases in numerous countries, thus gaining experience of foreign IP laws and procedures, as well as creating a highly professional network of IP lawyers.
Mr Tranälv has been counsel in litigation before the Swedish IP courts and the Supreme Court (in a well-known design patent case); his litigation experience covers patents, copyright, trademarks and design patents.
Mr Tranälv is client focused: he is fully dedicated to his clients and their needs, and devises the best solutions to their particular problems. This leads to a high level of trust among clients, who remain loyal to him.
Despite his long career, Mr Tranälv remains an enthusiastic lawyer who still finds all new cases exciting and challenging.
Mr Tranälv has lectured, in particular on IP disputes, as part of MA programmes in intellectual property and IP exploitation at Gothenburg University.
