María Ángeles Moreno is a lawyer and European trademark attorney. She graduated in law from the Complutense University of Madrid (1989). She is a member of the Bar Association of Madrid and an office-accredited industrial property agent. She has also undertaken a specialisation course in intellectual property at Fordham University, New York.
Ms Moreno speaks English and Spanish.
Ms Moreno studied in preparation of the civil servant examination for judges and then began to work as a specialist lawyer in IP matters. She joined Herrero & Asociados in 1991, after having been part of the then-leading Spanish IP firm.
As the manager of Herrero’s international department, Ms Moreno is in charge of the processing, prosecution, surveillance and enforcement of trademarks and patents worldwide, and the special services which it offers in Latin America.
Ms Moreno has extensive experience teaching and lecturing about trademark protection outside Spain. Among other venues, she spoke at the Seville Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation (October 1995). In October 2000 she gave a talk at a conference organised in Madrid by the US law firm Alston & Bird LLP about the practical aspects of IP rights enforcement in the United States. In 2008 she participated as a speaker at the Congress for Business Internationalisation EXPORTA, organised by the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade and PROMOMADRID (a public entity for the international promotion of Madrid).
