Inmaculada González is a partner at BomhardIP. She has extensive experience in all matters concerning IP rights, including trademarks, patents and copyright. She specialises in IP litigation – representing Spanish and international companies in IP infringement and unfair competition cases before the Spanish courts – and has handled numerous cases before the EU Trademark Court in Alicante, enforcing EU trademarks and designs.
Dr González holds a doctorate in law from the University of Barcelona and an LLM from the University of Munich. During her three-year stay in Munich at the Max-Planck Institute, she worked as both a PhD candidate and researcher at the European Patent Organisation, where she acquired a strong background in Spanish and German patent law, as well as in EU design law.
In addition to numerous articles in IP journals, Dr González has authored a book on the protection of utility models in the European Union. She teaches on numerous graduate and specialised courses, including on the master’s course in information technology, social networks and intellectual property at the Universitat Ramón Llull, Barcelona and on the Magister Lucentinus master’s course in intellectual property at the University of Alicante.
Dr González is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and an active member of the European Intellectual Property Teachers Network. She is also a member of the International Trademark Association, the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
As well as her native Spanish, Dr González speaks fluent English and German.
