Eryck Castillo

Eryck Castillo has over 30 years’ experience in trademark and domain name portfolio management for Mexican and international companies, at both domestic and international levels. He is an expert counsel for clients in need of serious, objective and practical solutions to their IP needs. His knowledge and skills stem from specialised studies in intellectual property conducted in Mexico and abroad, in addition to practice and the values that have been fostered in the law firm since its foundation over 110 years ago, which were taught to Mr Castillo by some of its founders.

Mr Castillo is the current president elect of AMPPI, the Mexican Chapter of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). He is a member of the INTA Unreal Campaign Committee, a member of the AIPPI Trademark Committee and a member of the Geographical Indications Committee of the European Communities Trademark Association.

Mr Castillo is well known throughout the IP world. He was educated in Mexico and holds a law degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (1993) and a master’s in intellectual property from the Franklin Pierce Law Centre (1994). He also holds a diploma in IP law from the Pan-American University (1996); he continues his education by attending seminars throughout the world.

Mr Castillo is the author of several articles on IP-related topics. He has also spoken publicly on these issues and lectured at several universities and associations.
