Consuelo González-Rodríguez is an attorney who specialises in intellectual property. She began working at Uhthoff, Gómez Vega & Uhthoff SC in 1981 and was made partner in 1991. Today, Ms González-Rodríguez is a senior partner at the firm.
Ms González-Rodríguez has collaborated with the Mexican Industrial Property Institute on the Spanish adaptation and translation of the International Classification of Goods and Services of the World Intellectual Property Organisation. She is vice coordinator of national committees of the Mexican Association of Business Lawyers.
Many years of experience in IP and trademark matters are the basis of Ms González-Rodríguez’s extensive practice in the protection of clients’ rights. She has been involved in the development of resolutions on filing, examination, opposition and appeal proceedings involving multinational companies and is recognised as a great visionary and an outstanding lawyer. She is a member of several associations, such as the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group, the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and the International Trademark Association.
Ms González-Rodríguez is now the nationwide general coordinator of the committees of the Mexican Association of Business Lawyers. She has organised multiple conferences on the importance of various IP matters, such as the opposition system in Mexico.
