POPOVIC POPOVIC & PARTNERS
POPOVIC POPOVIC & PARTNERS is one of the oldest working law firms in Serbia, established in 1933 by Miodrag P Popovic. Through revolutions, wars, the dissolution of Yugoslavia and most recently the transition to a market economy, we have built our practice on a longstanding tradition of discretion, independence, experience and dedication to our clients’ interests.
POPOVIC POPOVIC & PARTNERS' main area of practice is industrial property. The firm offers a full range of industrial property protection including patents, trademarks, customs and market anti-counterfeiting protection and domain protection. Our practice areas include registration of patents, trademarks and designs, plant varieties, protection of IP rights before the Customs Office and market supervision of counterfeit goods, enforcement of IP rights, IP infringements, litigation, domain name registration and dispute resolution. POPOVIC POPOVIC & PARTNERS also helps clients to develop the most effective and cost-efficient methods of protecting their IP rights. We keep our clients up to date on the latest news and information concerning IP law in the West Balkan region.
Our strategic location provides quick access to patent examiners and other key personnel for cases in progress. Our attorneys at law are specialists and registered IP agents with the Intellectual Property Office of Serbia and registered patent agents with the European Patent Office. The firm provides a full range of industrial property protection services in Serbia and through our network of close associates, we also provide these services in Montenegro, Macedonia and Slovenia. We are also able to meet our clients’ industrial property needs and provide services in Croatia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
Our other areas of practice are media law and, as of recently, internet law, as well as data protection (registration in the Central Register and transfer of data to third countries) and food safety. Having a prestigious reputation and over 80 years' experience, we also maintain our general civil law practice, predominantly involving representation of foreigners in family matters, inheritance proceedings, litigation and real estate matters. With the process of accession of Serbia to the European Union, our firm’s current focus is on monitoring the changes in legislation resulting from the implementation and harmonisation of the legal rules of the European Union and their application. In this regard, our firm’s latest fields of interest are data protection, food safety, environmental law and human rights before the Constitutional Court of Serbia and the European Court of Human Rights.
In addition to Serbian, the firm’s professionals speak English, German and French.
