Sebastian Beck-Watt is an associate in the intellectual property group at Cassels. He is also a registered trademark agent. Sebastian advises on the acquisition, protection, enforcement and commercialisation of intellectual property in a variety of sectors. Sebastian’s practice involves both litigation and solicitor work and he has experience in a range of intellectual property and related areas, including trademarks, copyright, marketing and advertising, licensing and domain name matters.
Sebastian graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, he interned at a major Canadian news and media organisation, was an active member of IP Osgoode – Osgoode Hall’s intellectual property law and technology programme, and worked as a research assistant for leading intellectual property professors. He previously received an bachelor of arts (honours) degree in history from the University of Ottawa and worked in the financial services industry for several years.
Prior to joining Cassels, Sebastian was an associate at a boutique intellectual property law firm in Toronto. He also clerked for a judge at the Federal Court of Canada and articled at a national intellectual property law firm in Ottawa
