Rachel Alexander is a partner in the litigation group at Wiggin LLP, advising clients on a wide range of contentious IP and commercial matters. Ms Alexander is the force behind cases such as the Newzbin litigation in 2010 (which established key precedents in relation to online copyright infringement), the site-blocking jurisdiction in the United Kingdom (where she acted for major Hollywood studios) and the Cartier decision, which established site blocking as a remedy for trademark owners. Ms Alexander has also worked on key cases for rights holders, such as Spotify, concerning database rights, and SoundCloud, concerning the hosting defence.
