In 2006, Nicole Yu received her BA in law and English language from the Central University of Nationalities and joined CPA. Ms Yu passed the National Bar Examination in 2009. She received further training on US trademark law and practice in the United States in 2011, and on EU IPR law and practice in Germany in 2018.

Ms Yu is an experienced trademark specialist and practitioner. Her practice is mainly focused on trademark watch and search, prosecution, administrative protection of rights, administrative litigation and contentious proceedings. She also provides legal advice on trademark strategy, licensing, infringement and enforcement, as well as other IP-related matters such as copyright, unfair competition and customs issues. Her working languages are Chinese and English.
