Nathaniel Browand is a Special Counsel in the New York office of Milbank LLP.  Nathaniel concentrates his practice on intellectual property law, with particular emphases in intellectual property litigation, transactional work, and counseling. He has extensive experience litigating all phases of patent and other intellectual property cases before US district courts and the International Trade Commission. He also serves as lead counsel in inter partes review and post grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He often represents clients in an array of complex technologies, including computer software, telecommunications, networking, semiconductors, image processing, and chemical manufacturing processes. In addition to contested disputes, Nathaniel has substantial experience advising on the intellectual property and technology aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other corporate transactions. He counsels clients in connection with transactions involving significant intellectual property assets and advises on trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters.  In 2018, Nathaniel was recognized as a “Rising Star- United States” in Managing Intellectual Property's IP Star rankings. Nathaniel has authored or co-authored articles on patent issues appearing in the National Law Journal, the New York Law Journal and Law360. He is a member of the Litigation Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association.
