Maria Cruz Garcia graduated from Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon. She is a lawyer before the Portuguese Bar Association, as well as a patent and trademark attorney before the Portuguese IP Office.

Ms Cruz Garcia was a member of the board of directors of the Portuguese Association of IP Professionals from 2010 to 2013 and has been a member of the board of directors of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, Portuguese group since May 2013.

Ms Cruz Garcia has been a partner at J Pereira Da Cruz, SA since 2008 and is responsible for the administrative litigation department. She deals with all IP matters and has particular experience in trademarks.
