Lisa H Meyerhoff is a partner in Seyfarth’s Houston office. Her practice focuses on litigation and client counselling, as well as domestic and international IP disputes. She regularly handles IP enforcement matters, including anti-counterfeiting/piracy, trademark and trade dress infringement. Ms Meyerhoff has been involved in mediations, arbitrations, and bench and jury trials in federal court. She has also handled various trademark proceedings before the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and is fluent in all areas of IP protection and enforcement.
Her experience, both representing companies enforcing their intellectual property and defending other companies against IP infringement allegations, provides her with unique insights into opposing parties’ potential strategies. Having tackled IP disputes in the courts and before administrative agencies (sometimes simultaneously), she also has experience balancing the different processes, evidentiary rules, timing and other relevant factors in these competing forums.
Ms Meyerhoff has more than 30 years’ experience in IP protection and disputes. This provides her with an understanding of the gaps or errors that companies face when enforcing their intellectual property or defending against IP infringement claims from third parties. She has obtained eight-figure judgments in IP disputes, and has led numerous successful actions for companies in a wide variety of industries.
