Daniel Fiorello focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution and technological fields, such as aerospace (e.g., aircraft and related systems, turbomachines and associated components, software systems, electrical systems, drones and related technology, rocketry), electrical power generation and electrical motor systems, engines, weapons and related systems (e.g., firearm systems), optics, photovoltaics, nanotechnology, medical devices and methods, sensors, control software, user software (e.g., apps), materials science, packaging sciences and many other fields.
Daniel is experienced in the field of design patents and also counsels clients on trademark protection and enforcement. Daniel has assisted clients in commercial litigation, trademark litigation and patent litigation.
In addition to intellectual property, Daniel has counseled clients regarding U.S. regulations in the area of drug and cosmetics indications and packaging, marijuana laws and various DEA, FDA and state regulations.
Before joining Locke Lord, Daniel was a patent attorney at an IP boutique in New York where he prepared and prosecuted patent applications in various fields of technological arts primarily including medical devices. Prior to becoming an attorney, Daniel gained experience working as a patent agent in the technology transfer office of the University of Central Florida, giving Daniel a unique insight into the needs of university clients.
Outside of work, Daniel is a professional musician as well as an avid aviator. Daniel holds both a commercial pilot’s license and an instrument rating and has logged over 800 hours of flight time.
