António Campinos

President, European Patent Office

António Campinos is president of the European Patent Office (EPO).

Previously, Mr Campinos was executive director of the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). He has also been president of the Portuguese National Institute of Industrial Property and headed the Portuguese delegation of the EUIPO Administrative Board and the EPO Administrative Council. He was chairman of the Working Group on Industrial Property at the Council of the European Union during the Portuguese presidency and head of the Portuguese delegation at the World Intellectual Property Organisation General Assemblies.

He has a master’s in public law and advanced European studies and the University of Alicante awarded him the title of doctor honoris causa. He was inducted into the IAM IP Hall of Fame in recognition of his significant contribution to IP law and practice.
